Acacia Gardens has completed a stunning back garden in West Hampstead, North West London NW6. Working alongside garden designer Rosemary Coldstream on the project was a pleasure. The brief included creating a Millboard decking area to maximise the outside area surrounding the Summerhouse. A paved terrace directly outside the family home provides a beautiful place to entertain, thanks to the barbecue and dining table. We carried out hard and soft landscaping services for this domestic landscaping project.
Summerhouse Garden Key Features
Summerhouse Millboard Decking
Acacia Gardens installed Millboard decking in front of the Summerhouse to allow for a dining table and chairs. The decking continued to the side entrance of the Summerhouse for ease of access.
Garden Dining Terrace
To create a beautiful terrace for alfresco dining with a barbecue, Acacia Gardens installed grey ceramic Mosa Tiles. Access to the terrace is through the patio doors to maximise the use of the garden for socialising.
Garden Stepping Stone Path
We laid a stepping stone pathway using the same grey ceramic Mosa Tiles as the terrace. The stepping stones connect the family home with the Summerhouse decking. Using the same Mosa Tiles kept the materials to a minimum and helped to create a cohesive appearance to the overall garden design.
New Lawn and Planting
To complete the garden transformation, we laid a new lawn. Working to Rosemary’s instruction, Acacia Gardens also planted pretty layered borders. A garden bench nestled amongst the plants became a shaded seating area. Some of the original trees remained with the addition of specimen trees.
Rosemary’s garden design is simple yet stylish. The significant benefit for the client was creating usable areas for entertaining. Acacia Gardens installed a Millboard decking which is hardwearing and environmentally friendly. The Mosa Tiles looked stunning and were a great choice by the client for the patio and stepping stone pathway. The soft landscaping included laying a new lawn and planting borders to complete the serene garden design. By keeping some of the existing trees, the garden looked lush and mature. It is understated and undeniably elegant.
