Garden Build Project

Acacia Gardens were delighted to undertake the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 Garden Build Project for the David Harber and Savills Stand. Working alongside The Botanical Gardener (main contractors), it was a pleasure to receive the five-star trade stand award. Garden design inspiration came from The Nuttery at Sissinghurst and David Harber’s sculptures. Emily Erlam designed the David Harber and Savills Stand with lighting by John Cullen, resin bound by Hardwood Landscapes and metal work by Surrey Ironcraft. Garden furniture is by Cu-Cucine and Indian Ocean.

Emily Erlam’s design took inspiration from the Nuttery in Sissinghurst. She says it’s one of the big Spring attractions at the Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicolson’s former home. David Harbour’s two prominent sculptures – Bite II (designed exclusively for the show) and Teardrop Mantle, were additional sources of inspiration for the garden design. A collection of David’s sculptures was also showcased at the stand.

David Harber is a highly acclaimed award-winning sculptor making outdoor works of art for corporate and private clients. His work often takes inspiration from light and reflection through materials such as stainless steel, brass, copper, bronze or stone. Being a luxury real estate provider, Savills understands the importance of bespoke garden sculptures for their discerning clientele.

Herman Pobrati Managing Director Garden Designer

Garden designer Emily Erlam took inspiration from The Nuttery at Sissinghurst and David Harber’s Sculptures to deliver a five-star stand. It was an absolute pleasure being part of the team garden build team to bring Emily’s stunning garden design to life. Acacia Gardens were involved from day one on the two-week build working alongside The Botanical Gardener, who were the main contractors. After all the hard landscaping work, David Harber’s stunning sculptures brought the garden design and planting to life. The result was an inspiring sculpture garden.
