This delightful wildlife garden design and build project in Finchley, North London N3, has been transformed into a nature-attracting oasis. The Finchley garden upgrade combines a circular layout and curved paths to create a soft, harmonious design. Inspired by the natural contours of the lawn, it was expertly planned by our Garden Design team to attract wildlife. Inviting seating areas with golden fossil sandstone and a half-moon pergola complement the biodiversity-focused planting scheme, which supports pollinators, birds and ecological diversity. The result is a functional, wildlife-friendly retreat that encourages relaxation and exploration.

Garden Design

The garden design is inspired by the existing lawn, skilfully using its natural contours and layout as the foundation for a harmonious and seamless transformation. This compact space was carefully planned to attract wildlife, and a curved layout softens the overall design and enhances its appeal.

Curved Path

A gently curving pathway weaves gracefully through the garden, connecting the decking area to various seating spaces. This thoughtful design encourages exploration, inviting the client to enjoy the garden’s full potential while enhancing its overall flow and sense of connection.

Garden Seating

To create inviting seating areas at the rear of the garden, golden fossil natural sandstone was used in a circular layout, adding light and warmth to the space. Complementing the curved design, a half-moon pergola provides shade and elegance, further harmonising with the organic shapes throughout the garden.

Garden Planting

The planting scheme was designed to attract wildlife by offering pollinators and other creatures food, shelter, and habitats. Tall perennials like Verbena bonariensis and nectar-rich Salvia microphylla entice butterflies and bees in the warmer months while existing mature shrubs provide essential winter food for birds. Ground cover plants near pathways encourage biodiversity and add texture to the design.
