Multi-Level Outdoor Space in London N8
Acacia Gardens completes a cosy courtyard garden in Crouch End, North London N8. Working alongside garden designer Daniel Shea, the tranquil multi-level outdoor space is perfect for entertaining and relaxing while looking lovely from the house. The garden is ideal for socialising with friends and family, with three terraces of different materials and a built-in bench. Acacia Gardens carried out hard and soft landscaping services for this domestic landscaping project, including patio installation, raised beds and built-in seating.
Clay Paver Patio
We installed a rustic clay paver patio with a weathered appearance. The classic herringbone pattern has enjoyed a comeback, so it balances traditional and contemporary paving arrangements. This garden section adds interest as it sits between an existing patio and the rear raised terrace area.
Sandstone Raised Patio
We installed a raised patio using Heath Sawn Sandstone at the garden’s far end. The natural tone of the sandstone softens the otherwise heavy and oversized paving slabs. Although a multi-use terrace, it is currently home to the barbecue allowing cooking smells to stay out of the house.
Built-in Bench
To save space, a built-in wooden bench against a raised planter provides the homeowner’s plenty of seating for guests. Adding sheepskin rugs draped over the benches makes them feel cosy and comfortable. There is room for a separate outdoor dining table, chairs, or sun loungers.
Raised Planters and Pergola
Adding raised planters provides different dimensions and decorative interest to the garden design. It’s a great way to ensure a garden is low maintenance with fewer weeds and disturbance from pets. With the pergola behind the raised planter, it allows climbing plants to thrive, adding pops of colour in time.
We thought Daniel’s garden design was perfect for the compact North London plot. Daniel could maximise the budget by retaining an existing patio, fencing and a beautiful tree. The client’s brief of entertaining space with an appealing outlook was delivered. The Acacia Gardens team were happy to undertake the landscape construction, building the raised planters and bench alongside the planting.
