Contemporary Family Garden NW11
Acacia Gardens built this family garden in Golders Green, near Hampstead in North West London, to bring Catherine Cochrane’s garden design to life. The garden build brings together Florence Grey porcelain paving, Millboard decking, a newly installed lawn and generous planting. Distinct outdoor areas create space for entertaining and relaxing, while new trees add height and structure. Integrated lighting and irrigation complete the garden, resulting in a beautifully constructed outdoor space for everyday family life and year-round enjoyment.

Millboard decking provides a stylish transition between the garden room and the wider landscape. Steps lead naturally towards the lawn and lower level, giving the layout an easy sense of flow. The durable composite surface also offers a practical setting for relaxing, socialising and enjoying time outdoors.
A newly installed lawn introduces an open, green centrepiece to the scheme. Its soft, flowing shape contrasts beautifully with the surrounding hard landscaping and offers useful room for relaxation and family life. Crisp edges and neighbouring borders complete the finish, helping the different elements sit comfortably together.
Layered borders bring colour, texture and softness to the overall scheme, beautifully framing the lawn and entertaining areas. New trees introduce height and structure, while varied planting adds depth and seasonal interest. An integrated irrigation system supports healthy growth and simplifies ongoing care.
Acacia Gardens also carried out construction work to the front of the Golders Green property. The works included a new paved driveway, a porcelain entrance landing, and planting areas, along with integrated drainage, irrigation, and exterior lighting. Together, these practical and carefully finished elements create a smart, welcoming approach to the house.
At Acacia Gardens, our role is to take a considered garden design and bring it to life through careful construction and attention to detail. In Golders Green, the paving, decking, lawn and planting come together to create distinct spaces that feel naturally connected. Practical elements such as irrigation and lighting have been thoughtfully integrated into the build, resulting in a welcoming family garden that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.”
