Acacia Gardens designed and built this large garden in Hadley Wood, London EN4. We created a series of connected spaces, giving each part of the garden a clear purpose while maintaining a natural flow throughout. Changes in level add depth and character, with retaining walls, steps and pathways connecting the different areas. A spacious entertaining terrace, outdoor kitchen, pergola and water feature provide places to gather and relax. Layered cottage-style planting softens the landscaping, while a swimming pool creates a peaceful destination at the top of the garden.
We used the garden’s natural slope to create a series of connected levels. Each area offers a different way to use and enjoy the space. Retaining walls, landscaped steps and pathways make moving between the levels easy. The result is a garden with greater depth, character and a sense of discovery.
We created a generous terrace for outdoor dining, entertaining and spending time with family and friends. A bespoke outdoor kitchen makes cooking and hosting easy, while quality paving provides a practical and attractive finish. Positioned close to the house, this welcoming space feels like a natural extension of the home.
A contemporary pergola provides a sheltered place to sit, relax and enjoy the garden. Generous planting surrounds the seating area, creating a more intimate atmosphere away from the main terrace. It gives the garden another inviting destination and provides a comfortable space for relaxing and socialising throughout more of the year.
The swimming pool creates a peaceful destination at the top of the garden. Its position provides a relaxing setting with views back across the wider landscape. Lawn and surrounding planting soften the pool area and connect it with the rest of the garden. It provides an inviting space for swimming, relaxing and enjoying time outdoors.
Linear Garden Water Feature
A linear water feature brings movement and a relaxing atmosphere to the garden. Running through the different levels, it helps visually connect the individual spaces. The gentle sound of flowing water enhances nearby seating areas, while the clean design complements the surrounding landscaping. It creates an attractive focal point from several parts of the garden.
