We are delighted that Acacia Gardens has been honoured with the Bali Domestic Garden Construction Award 2023 for a project in the £100k-200K bracket, sponsored by Van Den Berk Nurseries and The APL 2024 Best in Category Award : Project Value £100,000 – £175,000, sponsored by Bury Hill Landscape Supplies. Our recognised project, Ashbourne Gardens, located in the charming town of Hertford, Hertfordshire, is a testament to exceptional residential landscaping. The intricate design conceived by Aralia Gardens Limited and our precise construction techniques showcase perfection in every corner. Each element was crafted meticulously, from the pergola, outdoor kitchen and roof garden to the multiple seating zones, varied elevations, walls and steps.

Paving Installation
We expertly installed grey sandstone paving beneath a pergola to form a patio area. Furthermore, we created a pathway that leads to the football pitch, ensuring smoother movement and accessibility around the garden. The choice of grey sandstone juxtaposed with clay pavers provided a striking contrast and heightened the space’s aesthetic appeal.
Custom Step Installation
A pivotal element of the garden’s design was the construction of bespoke steps that lead to both the house and the captivating roof terrace. This design incorporated the use of Bullnosed Step Treads. Notably, the steps to the roof terrace were designed with a subtle curve, which conserved space and added an intriguing visual element.
Lush Soft Planting
Soft landscaping played a pivotal role in this garden construction. In areas where the existing topsoil was improved, organic compost was integrated. As part of the bed preparation, plants were then installed. This was complemented by installing hedging and herbaceous plants, followed by mulching. Additionally, trees were planted around the football pitch area.
Hard Landscaping
Hard landscaping tasks encompassed the installation of a resin bond driveway. We placed a green V-mesh fencing behind the main boundary hedge for added security. Near the driveway, a feather edge fence was erected, and to ensure the bin area remained inconspicuous, we built a retaining wall in front of it to shield it from sight.
