This contemporary garden landscaping project in Winchmore Hill, North London N21 was created to the highest standards. The brief was to create an almost clinical look, low maintenance garden and continuous open space from the kitchen doors. The project started with levelling and removing over 160 tones of soil, approximately ten grab lorries of soil removed. Garden drainage is the most crucial invisible aspect of this project. Our site engineer Genti has designed and inspected and tested the drainage on the retaining wall, the level of crashed stone and mot type one under the grass, land drain pipes and drain channel. The main aspects of the project are exterior sandy white porcelain tiles from London Stone installed to the highest standards. Retaining wall rendered and painted white with drop nose steps and strip lighting. Bespoke slatted trellis is built on site by our in-house carpenter, have been let to dry before painting two coats to create the smooth finish. Artificial grass lifestyle elite is supplied by buzz grass and was installed using the latest techniques by our well trained and qualified artificial grass installers.
We employed Acacia Gardens to landscape and modernise our garden. From the outset, I felt confident that they were the right company for the project. Where others saw problems, Herman saw only potential. It was clear that gardening was as much a vocation as a job to him. It was a big job made more difficult by poor side access. The excess clay and soil had to be manually removed wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow. It was back-breaking work which Herman’s team, led by the uber-professional, Genti, undertook with vigour and without complaint. Harsh British weather made a difficult job even harder, but the project continued nonetheless pretty much on-schedule. As with all projects, adjustments and amendments are made as the work progresses. Pricing was always undertaken fairly, and we certainly feel we got excellent value for money.
“Herman employs a very professional team, all of whom are also genuinely nice people which always makes things easier and more pleasant. Genti and Herman were absolutely invaluable regarding knowledge and advice on where to source quality materials at a reasonable price. The finished result is spectacular and far away from the mud pool that they started with. We would have no hesitation in both recommending Acacia Gardens and using them again in the future. “Anne London
